Adeline C. Rush (nee Fielder), age 99, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 21, 2014 surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.
Adeline is survived by her children, Lindell (Barbara) Smith, Edith (Andrew) Pomykala, Marvin (Chris) Smith, Glen (the late Carolyn) Smith and Virginia (Fred) Thiel; 22 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, John P. Rush; two daughters in infancy, Martha Ann and Naomi Ruth; two grandsons, Kenneth Pomykala and David Smith; siblings, Neil Fielder, Dale Fielder, Hazel (Wade) Garrison and Ella Frances Fielder in infancy.
Adeline was a resident of Oak Creek, CO for 30 years where she enjoyed every aspect of the outdoors. She loved hunting, fishing, hiking in the wilderness and camping. She was employed at Hamidy's Hardware Store in Oak Creek, CO for many years. Adeline always carried a camera with her and loved capturing the perfect picture wherever she may have been. In 1993 Adeline moved into Joshua Arms Senior Residences in Joliet.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff at Salem Village Nursing Home and Vitas Hospice for the wonderful care and comfort they provided Adeline and her family.
A celebration of Adeline's life will begin on Saturday, June 28, 2014 with a visitation at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manhattan from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment to follow at Guardian Angel Cemetery in Manhattan. Per Adeline's wishes cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no funeral home visitation.
