Adelaida Villa
Age 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn.
Born July 27, 1936 in Michoacan, Mexico, Adelaida was a strong willed woman who raised her six children primarily on her own. She was a devoted Catholic who instilled her beliefs into her family to provide a strong foundation. In her free time, Adelaida loved to dance and sing. She was also known for her many wonderful dishes that she cooked. Adelaida was also very talented with crocheting and cross point. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Adelaida is survived by her six children: Salvador (Carolina) Cantu, Maria Cruz (Pedro) Cantu, David (Alejandra) Villa, Javier (Peggy) Carrillo, Fernando (Patty) Carrillo and Rosalba (Gustavo) Calderon; seventeen grandchildren: David, Carlos, Yasmin, Pedro, Karina, David, Jr., Andrea, Adriana, Osvaldo, Javier, Jr., Miguel, Vanessa, Luis “Guicho”, Fernando, Jr., Angelica, Gabriela and Gustavo, Jr.; five great-grandchildren: Angel, Raul, Salvador, Ariela and Thiago, and one sister: Maria (the late Galdino) Cruz, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Adelaida was preceded in death by her parents: Viviano and Asuncion (Cortes) Villa and grandson, Salvador Jr.
Family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, February 8, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road in Joliet. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held the following day, Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 205 E Jackson Street in Joliet. Interment will follow and Adelaida will be laid to rest at St. Mary Nativity Cemetery in Crest Hill.
