Adam is survived by his loving wife, Amy M. Benish Schildknecht) of Joliet, IL; parents Edward and Pamela Benish of Winona, MN; sister Lisa Benish of St. Paul, MN; paternal Grandmother Mary D. Benish of Mason City, IA; maternal Grandfather Lester Marth of Mason City, IA; Father-in-law Adolph J. Schildknecht and Christina Wiersgalla of Eau Claire, WI; Mother-in-law Donna M. Schildknecht and Kenneth Stark of Winona, MN; brother-in-law Adolph T. and Amanda Schildknecht of Winona, MN; nephew A. Dawson Schildknecht of Winona, MN; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, friends and loving dog ""Daisy.""
Preceded in death by paternal Grandfather Raymond F. Benish and maternal Grandmother Doris Marth.
Born August 29, 1976 in Mason City, IA. Adam was a devoted husband, loving son and brother. He was an avid international traveler, restorer of old homes, had an inquisitive mind and a wonderful sense of humor.
Adam was an engineer for International Titanium Powder, LLC, Lockport, IL. He also served for the United States Navy (1995-2001) as a Nuclear Machinist Mate stationed in Pearl Harbor,Hawaii. He graduated from Winona Senior High School in 1995, recently graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Materials Science and Engineering, and was pursuing a Master's Degree in Materials Science and Engineering.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made payable to the Illinois Institute of Technology for a scholarship fund in memory of Adam J. Benish.
Visitation will be on Saturday, April 5, 2008 from 2-6 PM with a Memorial Celebration beginning at 5:00 PM. An additional gathering will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2008 from 12-4 PM at the Holzinger Lodge in Winona, MN.
